I have often thought of becoming a vegetarian for the sustainability, environmental, and personal health reasons; but I never have made the step for the very reason that it is so hard to re-learn how to shop, cook, eat, and even think. Great post, keep em coming.

The garden at our old house had a lovely Santa Rosa plum that is now producing very well…right after we moved, of course! Still filling in here at new house, blueberries and cane berries, strawberries, this’ll be the year for fruit trees…only one apple to date. Need fig, plum and cherry, my faves. For fresh plums, my favorite use is pie…italian prune plum pie with a little ginger and almond streusel. mmmn. hungry now.

Glad you’ve learned to enjoy prunes/plums. You probably already know, but plums/prunes are the easiest trees to grow in Oregon. It should be easy to replace your stash!
