It’s not a pretty picture. This gritty reality may force a re-examination of our values and our beliefs about people caught within the throes of poverty. The people profiled in this video appear far from being crazy and helpless. Yet, for different reasons, they choose to obtain at least some of their food out of alley way dumpsters. Perhaps in a more benevolent world, attacking the roots of poverty would be a campaign fought with the same ferocity and commitment of resources, we devote to wars, past and present. As a species, we have advanced so greatly, but in some ways though, so little.
