Food prices in Europe, and The United States, have gone down markedly since 1970 when the average family spent 32% of their earnings on food, now that figure is 13%. What’s wrong with cheap prices for food? Carlo Petrini argues it promotes mass food production, increases the risk of Mad Cow Disease, and creates more pollution directly related to food production.
