We always shopped at the farmers market and visited local farms, especially to buy bulk quantities for preserving. But this year, we have doubled our garden and we want to see how much of our own food we can grow. We will supplement our homegrown food with farmers market and on-farm purchases.

We decided for slightly different reasons not to join a CSA this year. Actually this particular CSA farm is not at the local Farmers Market. Unfortunately in my area some of the smaller farms are a bit nervous about branching out and offering CSA shares. I'm hoping to talk a few into it though...:)

Lee,

Glad you enjoyed the post. I'm guessing many of the CSA providers in your area are also at the Farmer's Market, so you're probably okay. :-) I'm looking forward ot digging into this whole series of posts.

Great post, and a difficult decision.
