During the summer of 2009, Nathan Winters spent 5 months pedaling across the country—4300 miles— to rediscover our food system. Along the way he interviewed farmers, activists, educators, food entrepreneurs, and others, to capture the rich flavors of those strongly connected to the land and to creating a sustainable future.
As he applies the finishing touches to his new book, The Unconventional Harvest, chronicling his uncommon journey—beginning on March 30, 2011, Winters (aka @follownathan) will be sharing excerpts from the book on CUpS. In the meantime, this video from a sampling of Winter’s images, provides a sneak peek at some of the characters, and places that appear in his upcoming stories.
