Due to dwindling numbers, a ban on catching red snapper along the coast of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas was enacted January 4, 2010. The new law has a ripple effect for many in the Southeast region. Some are seeking new regulation – to take into consideration the economic impact on a community – in regards to possible future fishing bans.
