About the Store

Cooking Up a Story prides itself on the quality of information we provide and the caliber of the people in our videos. As a logical extension of years of dedication to exploring food and sustainability issues, we have always been attracted toward the individual in society. The urban farmer that creates a homestead upon which much of their family uses for sustenance, the chef that prepares dishes that favor the local environment, the artisan that crafts distinctive barrels of wine. Hundreds of these videos and stories.

This store is a celebration of the artisan and the highly distinctive products that they make for the kitchen and the home. Just like the careful research we do for our films, we apply the same efforts toward finding local artisans who produce exceptional handcrafted products. Every item we sell carries our tacit endorsement of quality.


Within 30 days of your order, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase*, please notify us so we may make arrangements to have the item returned, and to provide a full refund of the product. Please note, if an item shows visible signs of normal wear and tear, we will not be able to offer a refund. *Some products are individually marked as final sale items, for example, all food items and are nonrefundable. Unopened DVDs may be returned provided they are in their original shrink-wrap packaging and in otherwise sellable condition.

We will notify you by email when we have received the returned item, and will credit your account on the same credit card used for the initial purchase. A refund will usually occur within 7-10 business days upon receipt of the items return.

We do not refund the shipping costs on returned items.

Defective Exchanges:

Within 14 days of purchase, if your product is defective, upon its return to us, we will ship a replacement. If the product is no longer in stock, we will provide a refund, or offer full credit toward a different purchase. Let us know immediately before any items are to be returned so we may issue you a return (RMA) number.

Store Purchases- Payment Methods and Security

We use Paypal PayFlow service for the processing of credit card transactions. For those who already have a Paypal account, we also use PayPal Standard that allows customers to use their PayPal account to complete their Cooking Up a Story purchases. We do not store your credit card information, processing is handled directly though our secure store checkout service with PayPal.
