Fresh Live Chickens—Hurry!—Going Fast

Traveling on the I-5 highway heading north, this transport truck appeared almost out of nowhere. On-board were the saddest looking live chickens, mostly just lying down. Would you buy one of these chickens at a supermarket or restaurant if you first saw these pictures?

Of course, there are far more gruesome pictures of industrial livestock, it’s that the reality is often hidden from view.

Let’s make our food system humane, not something that would turn our stomachs if we were to see it.
