As the national unemployment rate continues to hover around 10%, with 15 million people out of work, few Americans seem interested in farm worker jobs. In this segment, Larry Kleinman decries the notion that immigrants and undocumented farm workers that comprise most of the farm labor force are taking away desired jobs from U.S. citizens.
Below is Steven Colbert’s testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, and Border Security, in which he describes his recent, one day experience as a farm worker in the fields.
