Fisher-poet, Steve Schoonmaker, talks of his newfound love of art and being bound to his local commercial fishing community of Cordova, Alaska. In the video, Schoonmaker shares some of his own life’s story. Along with the visuals, I especially enjoyed his poem ‘Chrome’ that evokes the life of a fisherman, inextricably tied to the sea and hence to the cycles of nature.
