Restoring the Historic Lostine Tavern Back to its Communal Roots

Restoration Project Seeks to Create First Farm to Table Tavern in Eastern Oregon

In the small town of Lostine in Wallawa County, the welcome sign off highway 82 reads “A little piece of God’s country”, part of a deep agricultural community dating back to the late 1800’s. Two resident entrepreneur’s, longtime “foodies” Lynne Curry and Peter Ferré, are seeking $58,000 to restore the historic Lostine Tavern back to its roots as a community dining center.

Their crowdfunding campaign is also notable because it is the first project of Changefunder, a Portland based company that provides a fundraising platform for projects in Oregon and Washington State that serve the public good.

Please consider helping their campaign raise the $58K it will need to bring the Lostine Tavern back to life:

  • Complete the buildout of an efficient production kitchen for the Justine Tavern to reopen in May of 2014.
  • Purchase kitchen equipment, including a smoker for house made charcuterie
  • Create a custom bar from 100-year old salvaged wood
  • Furnish a comfortable dining room where families, friends and travelers can find great food and company.
