A vegan leather!
Maybe it’s not technically leather as it’s not made from an animal skin. Instead, Muskin is made from mushroom caps that are treated by a nontoxic (chemical-free) process to become a leather-like material that can be formed into finished products. It goes to show how wide a palette (so to speak) are vegan-made products, not just food items.
Here’s a link to the company in Italy that makes this product: Grado Zero Espace
Which got me thinking about Ricardo Montalban and his “rich corinthian leather” car commercials of the 70’s. So, why not (thank you: YouTube).
