A Bake Sale for Japan

June 14, 2011 In North Vancouver, Canada, recently 9 year old Emily held a bake sale to raise funds to help those hit hard by the March 11th earthquake in Japan. She and her younger brother distributed 2-3 dozen homemade flyers in the hopes to entice neighbors to stop by for some home-baked goodies. With a goal to raise $50, she collected over 3 times as much.

“Japan isn’t in the news anymore, but people still need to realize that it is a major catastrophe that needs just as much attention today as it did in the weeks after it happened. This video is a great reminder that no matter who we are and what we are capable of, everyone can help in their own way.” – Andrew Golibersuch
